Types of oxygen cylinders

Type A 

Type A oxygen cylinders are small and highly portable. They hold 100–250 liters of oxygen, that make them suitable for short-term use. These portable oxygen tanks are ideal for wheelchairs or for short trips outside the home. Because of their compact size and lightweight aluminum body, they are easy to carry. This type of cylinder has a small oxygen tank, valve system, regulator, and pressure gauge to monitor oxygen levels.

Type B

Another type of medical oxygen cylinder is used for home care, small clinics, and as a backup oxygen source. They are suitable for patients who need a cylinder of oxygen for a few hours during the day. These cylinders come equipped with medium-sized tank, a standard valve and regulator, a flow control knob, and a pressure gauge. They can be moved easily within a home setting.

This cylinder comes with a larger oxygen tank, regulator (built-in or attachable), pressure gauge, and is typically mounted on a wheeled stand for support.
